Pollos El Cortijo is a Honduran poultry company established by visionary entrepreneur Don Johnny in 1960. The company began with a modest production of 400 chickens weekly in a rented farmhouse in the Lomas del Cortijo area near El Pedregal in Tegucigalpa. Initially, both the chicks and the ingredients for the bird feed were imported from the United States. Five years after its foundation, the company relocated to El Loarque, now Germania, where a processing plant and several farms were constructed to increase processing capacity and improve the production process.
