Point Lisas Nitrogen Limited is a joint venture between Koch Industries Inc. of Wichita, Kansas and CF Industries of Deerfield, Illinois in the United States. Operating a 2,040 metric tons per day (MTPD) plant at North Caspian Drive, Point Lisas, the company is situated close to the Carli Bay area. This fertilizer complex is the first facility to be located in the new Point Lisas Industrial Estate (North). Constructed by the Kellogg, Brown & Root Inc. (formerly The M.W. Kellogg Company) of Houston, the plant began production in April 1998. This facility is one of the world’s largest single-train ammonia production facilities, designed to be the world’s most efficient, incorporating the new, gas efficient Kellogg Advanced Ammonia Process (KAAP) technology. The complex includes the ammonia plant, two ammonia storage tanks, an ammonia pipeline from the plant to the ammonia loading pier, an ammonia loading arm at the pier, and supporting facilities for the production and shipping of ammonia. With Fitzroy Harewood as the President, the company currently employs 104 full-time nationals of the Republic of Trinidad and Tobago.
