Parallel Universe provides a complete open-source server-side stack that makes it easy for developers to exploit the full power of their hardware. With the Parallel Universe stack developers can write super scalable code that works in harmony with modern hardware rather than fight it, while keeping your programming language and your simple, familiar programming styles. Our software contains a full infrastructure stack (except for the OS itself) comprising – from the bottom to the top – a storage engine that minimizes IO; a database built for extreme performance and concurrency; lightweight threads (fibers) and actors for simple, scalable business logic, and a web layer that integrates existing web servers with our lightweight threads for immediate added capacity. Each of these layers can be used in isolation, and made to integrate with existing libraries, or the whole stack can be used together to build almost unimaginably scalable software systems.
