Established in 2014 by co-founders, Azim Jamal and Joe Moosa, the company has a strong presence in the real estate, hospitality and entertainment, healthcare, technology, and private equity sectors. The company's journey began with the acquisition of the 280-room Sheraton Guildford Vancouver Hotel in 2004, which marked the start of diversifying the portfolio to include other real estate assets. This was further expanded between 2011 and 2013 with ventures into commercial and multi-family properties, notably acquiring 2,000 apartment units in Phoenix and 300 units in Los Angeles. In 2013, the iconic Maple Leaf Quay towers in downtown Toronto were acquired, which contains 517 residential units and 84,000 square feet of commercial space. Pacific Reach currently owns over 1,800 apartment units, over 1.4 million square feet of commercial real estate, and 1,215 hotel units. In 2018, the company expanded into the entertainment sector and developed investments in Food & Beverage operations and entertainment businesses, leading to the formation of Pacific Reach’s Hospitality & Entertainment Division. Additionally, the company also grew its non-real estate investments, leading to the creation of a new Capital Division, which employs a private equity strategy and invests in a variety of industries. Based in Canada, Pacific Reach has demonstrated a steady and strategic expansion across multiple sectors, setting a solid foundation for continued growth and diversification within its investment portfolio.
