OtoSim Inc is an industry leader in simulation for diagnostic training of the ear and eye, with a mission to improve patient outcomes. The company introduced its OtoSim™ Otoscopy training system in September 2011, followed by the launch of a Pneumatic Otoscopy Trainer in September 2012 and OphthoSim™, an Ophthalmology trainer, in June 2013. In 2014, they released a Mass Training upgrade, and introduced the OtoSim Mobile™ in 2018 and the OphthoSim Mobile in 2019. OtoSim Inc. is rooted in technology developed by two Otolaryngologists at the Hospital for Sick Children (SickKids) in Toronto and the University of Toronto Medical School, aiming to enhance the training of Otoscopy for improved patient outcomes. The OtoSim™ unit and process have demonstrated a 44% enhancement in diagnostic efficiency for medical students compared to traditional classroom training. The company has garnered investments, including a $60.00K Seed Round investment on 23 August 2012 from Ontario Centres of Excellence, MaRS Discovery District, and Mitacs.
