Nonviolent Peaceforce is a global civil society organization with a mission to protect civilians in violent conflicts through unarmed strategies and to build peace alongside local communities. The organization envisions a world where unarmed civilian peacekeeping using nonviolent strategies is seen as a viable alternative in preventing and addressing violent conflicts. Founded in 2002, Nonviolent Peaceforce operates in conflict zones globally including Iraq, Myanmar, Sudan, South Sudan, Thailand, Philippines, US, and Ukraine, with its headquarters in Geneva.
