NHICC is NH Destination Imagination
NHICC, or New Hampshire’s Incredible Creativity Connection, is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that operates New Hampshire Destination Imagination (NH-DI), the state's affiliate of Destination Imagination (DI). This program, known as the Destination Imagination Challenge Program, is the largest of its kind worldwide. Every year, NHICC offers seven new standards-based Challenges in various fields, including STEM, Improvisation, Visual Arts, Service Learning, and Early Learning. The program emphasizes open-ended challenges, encouraging student teams to engage in the creative process from imagination to innovation.
Administering the DI program for nearly 3,000 Granite State students from over 200 schools and community groups, NH Destination Imagination provides a platform for students to develop 21st-century skills such as creativity, critical thinking, collaboration, communication, citizenship, and confidence. Teams convene in March, aiming to progress to Destination Imagination Global Finals in May. Moreover, the organization hosts a summer camp designed to empower campers by enhancing their creative and critical thinking skills, leadership abilities, problem-solving, and teamwork over six days and five nights.
Founded in 1981, NHICC operates within the education industry, focusing on fostering future leaders and innovators by integrating education with essential life skills and the demands of the #FutureOfWork.
