Neurodiversity Education Research Center (NERC) is an independent nonprofit research institute focused on enhancing access to quality education and workforce development for neurodivergent individuals. The organization integrates expertise across STEM education, social & emotional learning, and workforce development to address the complex challenges faced by the neurodiversity community.
Founded in 2017, NERC has made significant strides in promoting its vision of inclusive education. One of its flagship initiatives, Science Prep Academy, is a STEM private school that has successfully validated an innovative research-based education model designed to support neurodivergent students transitioning into college and careers.
With its team of experts holding degrees in scientific, technical, and professional disciplines across education, mental health, and STEM fields, NERC actively engages in a multitude of projects each year to address critical education, social, and scientific challenges. The institute's efforts are supported by a $25.00K grant investment from the Arizona Community Foundation, received on 22 May 2023.
NERC's impactful research partnerships, including the ASU NERC Research RPP funded by the National Science Foundation, demonstrate its commitment to driving equitable solutions in neurodiversity. By leveraging its comprehensive expertise, NERC aims to inform public policy, ground practice in evidence, and ultimately fulfill its mission of enabling access to quality education for all.
