NetZero

NetZero is a Renewable Energy startup based in France, founded in 2021. The company focuses on bringing biochar at scale in the tropics for climate and people. Biochar, derived from residual plant matter, is buried in the soil to extract solid atmospheric carbon, offering a scientifically proven method for high-permanence carbon removal while enhancing soil quality. NetZero's unique model enables affordable biochar for farmers, aids companies in neutralizing their unavoidable emissions, and co-generates renewable energy. The startup has received recognition, including two-time winner of Musk Foundation's XPRIZE Carbon Removal competition, Efficient Solution label from Solar Impulse Foundation, and the Green Tech prize at the Tech for Good Awards. Their last investment of €7.00M came from InnovX in a Corporate Round investment on 29 October 2024. NetZero is also involved in developing carbon removal projects certified under the Puro Standard.
