Natural Shea Care (NSC) is a black-owned startup that prioritizes ethically sourced and natural beauty products. The company's flagship brand, True Shea, boasts a higher concentration of shea butter compared to other products in the market. NSC's commitment to community is evident in their local and international investments. The products are manufactured in the USA, and the shea butter is ethically sourced from Ghana, the home country of founder Manny Addo. NSC upholds fair-trade practices by paying above-market prices to the socially and economically disadvantaged women who supply the shea butter. Additionally, a portion of sales is allocated to a community development fund, supporting initiatives such as improving working conditions and providing essential facilities like clean drinking water. Notably, in February 2022, NSC installed a clean drinking well in a Ghanaian village, significantly improving access to essential resources for the community. The last investment, in the form of a grant, was secured on 28 June 2023 from Main Street Ventures Grants. NSC's dedication to ethical sourcing, community investment, and impactful initiatives positions them as a promising player in the wellness beauty industry since their establishment in 2016.
