National Refinery Limited (NRL) is a Pakistan-based company established in 1963 as a public limited company. Initially managed by the Government of Pakistan, NRL was placed under the Ministry of Petroleum & Natural Resources' administrative control in November 1998. In 2003, the government decided to include NRL in its privatization program, leading to its acquisition by Attock Oil Group in July 2005, marking a significant shift in management. NRL's refinery complex includes three refineries, enjoying a competitive edge as the only refinery producing LBO in Pakistan. With a focus on manufacturing and the oil and gas industries, NRL's history and strategic ownership change make it a potential area of interest for venture capitalists considering the evolving energy landscape in Pakistan.
