NamPower

NamPower is the national power utility of Namibia, established in 1964. Its slogan "Powering the Nation" reflects its primary focus on the generation and transmission of electricity. As a key player in the industry, NamPower recognizes the crucial role of electricity in the socio-economic development of Namibia. The company aims to ensure the availability, affordability, and accessibility of electricity to a wider population within a short timeframe. NamPower's diverse portfolio includes the thermal, coal-fired Van Eck Power Station near Windhoek, the hydroelectric plant at Ruacana Falls in the Kunene Region, and the diesel-driven Paratus Power Station at Walvis Bay. Notably, the company secured a significant €20.00M grant investment on 24 December 2021 from KfW and the Federal Government of Germany. With a focus on national energy provision and a strong investment backing, NamPower continues to make strides in powering Namibia.
