Modular Robotics

Modular Robotics is a company that designs and builds robot construction kits for kids with the slogan "Cubelets robot blocks: the building blocks of better thinkers." Founded in 2008 as a spin-off company from Carnegie Mellon University, it aims to provide the tools for people to build and manipulate complex physical systems and learn about design, complexity, and the natural world through play. The company's flagship product, Cubelets, are the world’s first robot blocks, funded in part by grants from the National Science Foundation. These unique little robots are designed to teach robotics, engineering, design thinking, tactile coding, and computational thinking to builders of nearly any age. Currently headquartered in the United States, Modular Robotics received its latest funding, a Series B investment, on November 14, 2014.
