Mitosan Biotechnology

Mitosan is a Turkish manufacturing startup that focuses on bioplastic solutions, including chitosan, poly(lactic acid), recycled bioplastics, biodegradation standards, and tests. Founded in 2018 by 4 academicians at the YTU Incubation Center with the support of BIGG, Mitosan is aligned with the zero waste project by reusing waste materials. The company produces chitosan from the waste of shellfish such as shrimp and crab, and conducts R&D studies to recycle poly (lactic acid) wastes and produce environmentally sensitive biodegradable polymers and bioplastics. Furthermore, Mitosan carries out biodegradability tests of the biodegradable products according to the relevant standards. With its innovative approach, Mitosan presents a promising investment opportunity with its focus on sustainability and environmentally friendly practices.
