MerchantCircle provides small businesses with web listing pages, blogging platforms, deal-building tools, and various resources to attract new customers. Additionally, consumers can create profiles to manage coupons in real time and pose business-specific questions to the network. The term "Circle" in the company's name reflects a marketing strategy that encourages businesses and consumers to interact and solve common problems collectively. The company received a $10.00M Series B investment on 01 September 2007 from investors including Scale Venture Partners, Rustic Canyon, IAC, Steamboat Ventures, Square 1 Bank. Before its acquisition by Reply! Inc. in June 2011, MerchantCircle had also acquired Bloglines and TimeBridge to expand its service offerings for local businesses.
