Media Standards Trust

The Media Standards Trust is a nonprofit organization dedicated to promoting the highest standards of excellence in news journalism to uphold public trust. The organization recognizes the critical importance of maintaining high standards in news and information for the health of democratic societies, especially in the face of significant changes in the production, funding, packaging, delivery, and consumption of news. Currently, the Media Standards Trust is involved in several key projects, including Why Journalism Matters, a series of talks by esteemed media figures, The Orwell Prize, which is renowned as Britain's most prestigious prize for political writing, Journalisted, a free online journalist portfolio designed to enhance public accountability in journalism, and the Transparency Initiative, a new effort aimed at exploring ways to increase the transparency of online news. Overall, the Media Standards Trust is focused on addressing the challenges faced by journalism and news dissemination in the modern era and is actively working towards fostering public trust and promoting excellence in news journalism.
