The Maryland-National Capital Park and Planning Commission (M-NCPPC) is a bi-county agency established in 1927 with the aim to acquire, develop, and maintain regional parks within Montgomery and Prince George's Counties, alongside providing land use planning. The agency's responsibilities expanded in 1970 to include public recreation programs in Prince George's County.

The governing body of M-NCPPC comprises 10 members, 5 appointed by each county, facilitating coordination and decision-making for both areas through separate Planning Boards. The agency manages a park system spanning over 52,000 acres, comprising various types of parks and recreation areas, with a diverse staff including planners, administrators, and seasonal workers.

The M-NCPPC encapsulates the vision of past leaders aiming to plan for orderly development and conservation of natural resources in the suburban counties bordering the District of Columbia.
