Magalies Citrus

Magalies Citrus is a world-class manufacturer based in South Africa. Originally known as Magaliesberg Citrus Co-operative Ltd when it was established as a pack house for fresh fruit in 1959, Magaliesberg Citrus Company (Pty) Ltd is now one of South Africa’s leading citrus processing plants.

When fresh fruit prices were low in 1965, Magalies ventured into processing citrus fruits and began manufacturing fruit juice concentrates. Since that momentous year, Magalies has grown from strength to strength to become a leading manufacturer of the highest quality fruit juice concentrates and by-products in South Africa.

Registered as a private company in 2005, Magalies now has approximately 90 shareholders (citrus farmers) who deliver about 60,000 tons of citrus fruit for processing every year. 11 different citrus varieties are grown and delivered by these shareholders. These fruits are processed and ultimately used in a vast variety of exciting fruit juice concentrate recipes. Magalies annually produce and supply concentrates for domestic market consumption of about 75 million liters of ready-to-drink fruit juices.
