Madison Metropolitan Sewerage District is a dedicated team committed to safeguarding public health, the environment, and local waters of south central Wisconsin through innovation, sustainability, and resource recovery. Established in 1930 originally to protect the lakes and streams of the upper Yahara watershed, the District has expanded to serve 26 customer communities covering some 184 square miles and 380,000 people in the Madison, Wisconsin area. With 141 miles of pipe and 18 regional pumping stations that convey approximately 41 million gallons of wastewater to the Nine Springs Wastewater Treatment Plant daily, the District is a leader in sustainability and resource reclamation. Governed by a five-member Board of Commissioners appointed by the County Executive, the District emphasizes policy setting, fiscal responsibility, and establishing directions. The Nine Springs Wastewater Treatment Plant is responsible for wastewater treatment for the entire District area. The staff members are tasked with the design and maintenance of interceptor collection sewers and pumping stations, conveying wastewater from over 40 municipal customers across Dane County to the treatment plant. The startup operates in the Health Care, Privacy and Security, Sustainability, and Water industries, thereby addressing critical societal and environmental needs. An investment opportunity in this sustainable and essential sector could yield positive returns, aligning with the increasing demand for environmental protection and resource recovery initiatives.
