Living Cities

Living Cities is a collaborative of foundations & financial institutions, founded in 1991. The organization is committed to closing racial gaps and harnesses the collective power of 18 of the world's largest foundations and financial institutions. Living Cities works with cross-sector leaders in cities to develop and scale new approaches to improve the economic well-being of low-income people. Their investments, research, networks, and convenings catalyze fresh thinking and support comprehensive, local approaches. The organization has collectively invested almost $1 billion in the last 20 years and has played a crucial role in shaping federal funding programs and helping communities build essential facilities. Their last investment of $1.67M was a grant investment from the Kauffman Foundation on 30 October 2020. Living Cities is headquartered in the United States and operates within the Financial Services and Fintech industries. The members actively shape the organization's work and priorities by participating on the Living Cities Board of Directors and its four standing committees.
