LARC is a private, not-for-profit, 501(c)(3), community-service organization that serves individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities, ensuring they can live a quality and engaging life by participating as contributing members of their community. Originally formed in 1956, as a school for children with developmental disabilities (The Lansing School of Special Education), LARC has grown to provide services and supports to approximately 100 individuals across the Chicagoland Area. Supports include service facilitation, community day services, choice-driven classroom & recreational activities, job training & placement, and community-integrated living arrangements for 44 individuals in single-family group homes throughout the community. LARC's mission is to pave pathways through individualized supports and services so people with intellectual and developmental disabilities can experience a self-directed lifestyle. We envision an inclusive society that embraces the individuality of each person with intellectual and developmental disabilities. LARC has part-time employment opportunities supporting individuals with developmental disabilities in Lansing, IL. Employees provide support and supervision in a group setting and provide daily living supports and community activities with a person-centered approach. Employees utilize agency vehicles and must have a valid driver'sā license and vehicle insurance. Additional requirements include a high school diploma or GED, must be 18 years of age or older and must pass a background check. Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities is a plus. Shifts are primarily afternoons, midnights, and weekends but some daytime hours are available.
