Landesforsten Rheinland-Pfalz is the state-owned enterprise responsible for managing and supervising the forests in Rheinland-Pfalz, the German federal state with the highest forest proportion. With 44 forest offices, it oversees approximately 215,000 hectares of state-owned forests and provides services for around 612,000 hectares of municipal and private forests. The company also operates its own research facility, the Research Institute for Forest Ecology and Forestry (FAWF), a training center for education and further training, the Forest Education Center in Hachenburg (WBZ), a competence center for forest technology (KWL), and various environmental education facilities.
