Laboratoire de Génie Civil et géoEnvironnement - LGCgE
Founded in 2010, Laboratoire de Génie Civil et géoEnvironnement (LGCgE) is a multidisciplinary research laboratory based in France, bringing together researchers from various institutions in the Hauts-de-France region. With a team of approximately 180 individuals, including 69 professors and researchers, 27 technical and administrative staff, and 81 doctoral students, the LGCgE is committed to research and valorization.
The laboratory is situated across 4 sites in Béthune, Douai, Villeneuve d’Ascq, and Lille, collaborating with institutions such as the University of Artois, Institut Mines Télécom Nord Europe, Université Lille, and Université Catholique de Lille.
LGCgE focuses on multidisciplinary research to address the challenges of sustainable construction, planning, and ecology, including issues related to construction, sustainable development, infrastructure safety, energy management, natural resource protection, contaminated sites management, and biodiversity.
Engaging in research and observation in partnership with the socio-economic sector, the laboratory facilitates the transfer of research results and technological innovation. It offers its members' expertise, scientific equipment, and technological platforms (geomaterial characterization, habitat instrumentation, geochemical and biological analysis) to support socio-economic actors.
