The company started R&D in 2005 with an ambition of making an algorithm able to continuously detect, analyse and give feedback on the mathematics line-by-line. In 2010 the service was launched in Norway and became an immediate success, praised by students and teachers. More than 100.000 high quality exercises are available in multiple languages. By end of 2021, Norwegian and Swedish students have solved more than 650 million complex exercises and the numbers are rising faster every day.

The last investment in Kikora was a kr10.00M Venture Round investment at 11 January 2018, led by Aschehoug, a significant contributor in the education sector.
