Korea Foundation for Advanced Studies (KFAS) is a non-profit foundation established in 1974 by Chey Jong-hyon, the late Founder and Chairman of SK Group, with the goal of producing world leading scholars who will contribute to academic and national development. The foundation's mission is to discover the academic potential of creative and motivated talents, and to support them so that they may contribute to the advancement of humanity. Through international academic exchange, KFAS strives to present alternative solutions to global problems and future development. Additionally, by creating knowledge sharing platforms, the foundation aims for social progress and improving the quality of life.
Under the spirit of 'Pay It Forward', Choi Tae-won, the Chairman of Korea Foundation for Advanced Studies, supports unconditional scholarship programs based on the foundation's three main visions. These are to contribute to advanced studies and academic development, expedite the production and sharing of creative knowledge to contribute to social advancement, as well as prosperity and happiness of humanity.
