IWC Ltd (Indigenous Wellbeing Centre)

IWC Ltd (Indigenous Wellbeing Centre) is a non-government, Aboriginal community-run, and a registered charity, committed to Reconciliation in Action. Established in 2002, it operates in the health care industry from its headquarters in Australia. IWC offers comprehensive services to both Indigenous and non-Indigenous people across Bundaberg and the Wide Bay/Burnett region. With over 12,000 clients and approximately 92,000 Episodes of Care annually, it has emerged as a significant employer in Bundaberg, employing 140 staff and continuously expanding its operations. The organization offers a wide range of services including general practitioners, access to specialists, allied health professionals, indigenous health practitioners, and dental care, among others. Additionally, it provides support through various programs such as the Indigenous Sport & Recreation program and serves as the Local Area Coordinator for the rollout of the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) in the Bundaberg area. Recognized for its excellence, IWC holds various accreditations and was awarded the AGPAL Aboriginal Medical Service of the Year in 2016. It was also the first Aboriginal community-controlled organization in Queensland to achieve ISO accreditation for Quality Management. The company operates on a robust private/community business model, ensuring sustainability, and has secured significant government funding for its expansion projects, including a $7.4 million investment towards the construction of Stage 2 of its IWC Health & Wellbeing Complex.
