The Iowa Governor's STEM Advisory Council was established in 2011 to bolster STEM education and innovation in Iowa. The council, co-chaired by Governor Kim Reynolds and Accumold President and CEO, Roger Hargens, convenes business, policy, and education leaders to better position Iowa’s young people and the state’s economy for the future. The executive director, Dr. Jeff Weld, leads the council's efforts from the Operations Center at the University of Northern Iowa. This unique partnership aims to drive forward Iowa's STEM initiatives, supporting the development of a skilled workforce and positioning the state as a leader in innovation and technology. The Council's initiatives are aimed at creating a robust ecosystem for STEM activities and education, which in turn will empower the state's economy and young talent.
