IHFC (TIH of IIT Delhi)

IHFC (TIH of IIT Delhi) is a Technology Innovation Hub of IIT, Delhi, established in 2020 in collaboration with the Department of Science Technology (DST), Ministry of Science and Technology, Govt. of India under National Mission on Interdisciplinary Cyber Physical Systems (NM-ICPS). It aims to bring together academia, government, and industry to drive innovation and technological advancement across Robotics.

With a focus on 4 application areas including Medical, Agriculture, Industry, and Defence, IHFC has mandates in R&D, Entrepreneurship and Startups, Skills and Training, and International Collaborations. Its vision is to empower the growth in India through academic support, collaboration, creation, and commercialization, while establishing a community of innovation and thought leaders. The mission is to achieve growth through academic support, collaboration, creation, and commercialization.

At the core of IHFC's focus lies Cobotics or Collaborative Robotics, which aims to advance the role of robots in performing tasks that are dull, dirty, and dangerous for humans. The startup envisions a future where manned + unmanned teaming is the norm, with intelligent robotic systems enhancing human capabilities, reducing risk, and increasing productivity and safety. The competency in human-robot collaboration is considered crucial for India's workforce, aiming to ensure that robotic systems enhance the capabilities of the workforce rather than replace them.
