Idaho Environmental Coalition (IEC), operating under the slogan "Safely delivering the Idaho Cleanup Project mission," was awarded a significant ten-year, $6.4 billion contract by the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) in 2021. Led by Jacobs and in partnership with North Wind Portage, this venture is comprised of integrated small business subcontractors, including Navarro, ORT, and Spectra Tech. IEC's mission is to manage cleanup operations at the Idaho National Laboratory (INL) Site and address legacy wastes from various sources, funded through DOE's Office of Environmental Management (EM). The focus is on reducing risks to workers, the public, and the environment, and protecting the Snake River Plain Aquifer, crucial to Idaho's agricultural industry. With a strong emphasis on integrity, safety, and sustainability, IEC's ties to INL and Idaho Falls span over 25 years. The venture is committed to meeting existing and future milestones for Site cleanup to facilitate INL's ongoing missions. IEC is a joint venture of Jacobs (jacobs.com) and North Wind Portage, firmly established within the community and on the site.
