IABS - International Alliance for Biological Standardization
Slogan: A neutral platform for Regulatory consensus creation in the field of Human and Veterinary biologicals
Description: The International Alliance for Biological Standardization is an independent, nonprofit scientific organization located in Geneva, Switzerland with about 250 members in over 50 countries. Operational offices are in Lyon, France. IABS vision: Health Solutions for everyone everywhere. IABS missions: #1 To bring biologicals stakeholders together. Our strength is to bring together private industry, academia and regulatory agencies to conduct scientific discussions on a global scale. #2 To facilitate consensus. Our collaborative events, such as conferences and workshops, guide decision-making and accelerate the standardization of biological products. #3 To share scientific advancements. We contribute to the improvement and innovation of biological products, through our Journal Biologicals and the website. IABS' role and strength reside in its ability to bring together interested parties for scientific discussions of important unresolved or emerging issues and to assist in developing a consensus with an action plan to achieve regulatory progress. This strategy has led to significant gains in both the human and veterinary fields, and it differentiates IABS conferences from most scientific meetings that focus simply on the exchange of information. Our activities contribute to faster global access to new vaccines for human and animal health. We have worked successfully with, and have supplemented the activities of, WHO, FDA, USDA, NIAID, EMA, and OIE. For more information, please visit our website at www.iabs.org.
