Hysata is a renewable energy startup with the mission to accelerate the world’s shift away from fossil fuels to green hydrogen by delivering the world’s best electrolyser. The company is developing a new type of hydrogen electrolyser with the potential to significantly shift the economics of green hydrogen production, aiming to bring $2/kg green hydrogen within reach. This innovation is crucial for accelerating the global transition to net zero emissions. Hysata's electrolyser is based on breakthrough Australian technology developed by a team from the University of Wollongong’s ARC Centre of Excellence for Electromaterials Science, led by chemical catalysis and characterization expert Prof. Gerry Swiegers. Having officially launched in June 2021, Hysata secured $5 million in seed funding led by IP Group, with support from the Clean Energy Finance Corporation (CEFC). The latest investment was a $42.50M Series A investment received on 01 August 2022, with participation from IP Group, Hostplus, Kiko Ventures, Virescent Ventures, IP Group Australia, Vestas Ventures, and Bluescope Steel. With the backing of these investors, Hysata is poised to make a significant impact in the renewable energy industry.
