Houston Hospice is a nonprofit hospice delivering quality, end-of-life care to patients and families in Southeast Texas. Founded in 1980, it is the oldest, largest, independent, nonprofit hospice in Greater Houston. The organization serves 13 counties across Texas, providing a range of services to patients and families of all ages and ethnicities. Houston Hospice is headquartered in the Texas Medical Center and offers physical, emotional, and spiritual support through a dedicated team comprising physicians, nurses, hospice aides, social workers, chaplains, counselors, and trained volunteers. Additionally, it operates the Margaret Cullen Marshall Hospice Care Center, also located in the Texas Medical Center. Houston Hospice focuses on creating a unique plan of care for each patient, working collaboratively with primary care physicians, patients, and families to identify goals. The organization offers educated counsel, compassionate support, and bereavement counseling to loved ones and family members. Houston Hospice is an in-network provider for most insurance companies, licensed by Medicare and Medicaid, and accredited by the National Institute for Jewish Hospice and the Community Health Accreditation Program, Inc (CHAP). As a member of the Texas Medical Center, Texas Non-Profit Hospice Alliance, and the Texas New Mexico Hospice Organization, Houston Hospice has voluntarily met the highest standards of excellence for home and/or community-based healthcare.
