Homex is a vertically integrated company focused on the social interest and middle-income housing sectors in Mexico. Established in Culiacán, Sinaloa in 1989, the company initially focused on the development of commercial areas and later shifted its focus to the design, construction, and marketing of homes. By the end of 1996, the company had operations in four cities in the northwest, expanding to ten cities a year later and strengthening its presence in the region. As of December 31, 2008, Homex had operations in 32 cities across 20 states of Mexico.
The company holds a leading position in the country's four most important markets: the Mexico City Metropolitan Area, Guadalajara, Monterrey, and Tijuana. Additionally, Homex stands as the largest housing developer in terms of the number of homes sold, revenue, and net income. Its diversity in geographic presence and market leadership positions it as one of the leading housing construction companies in Mexico.
The last investment in Homex was a Private Equity Round investment on January 1, 1999, with Nexxus Capital as the investor. With a strong foothold in the real estate and construction industries, Homex continues to make significant strides in the housing sector in Mexico.
