Het Anker

Het Anker is a Belgian family brewery with a rich history, having been in existence since 1471. The company is not just limited to brewing beer; it also boasts a whisky distillery and a brasserie & hotel. The brewery, located in Mechelen’s Grand Beguinage, has been a family-run business for six generations. In addition to offering guided tours, Het Anker also has a whisky distillery in Blaasveld, where Belgian whisky is produced from the malt mash of the Gouden Carolus beers. The latest addition to the brand, “Batteliek,” is a micro-brewery, micro-distillery, and lemonade factory housed in a former church, and it opened in early 2022. This new establishment serves as a restobar and creative workshop space, offering unique home-made drinks.
