Heart of England Forest is an ambitious charity aiming to reverse woodland decline and create a 30,000 acre broadleaf forest for the benefit of the environment, wildlife, and people. With only 13% tree cover in Britain, the organization's mission is crucial, especially considering the impact on the environment, people, and wildlife. The forest spans across 7,000 acres in Warwickshire and Worcestershire, with 2 million trees already planted, including new woodland and mature and ancient woodland areas. Established in 2003, it serves as a significant lung for the Midlands and a natural escape from urban environments. With a recent £1.70M grant investment from the Heritage Lottery Fund on 01 December 2020, the Heart of England Forest aims to provide a safe and permanent habitat for wildlife while offering a rejuvenating space for visitors.
