HD Rain

HD Rain is a France-based startup, established in 2018, that specializes in real-time weather data. With a slogan of "Real-Time Weather Data ©", the company offers a unique Weather-as-a-Service experience by measuring, analyzing, and forecasting weather with the highest resolution of 500 meters and 1 minute intervals. Their proprietary network of smart sensors, known as HDBoxes, collects data on various weather parameters including rain intensity, temperatures, sunlight, pressure, and humidity. This data, consolidated from their own sensors as well as third-party sources, is utilized with expertise in artificial intelligence and deep learning to generate highly accurate weather forecasts and insights. In January 2021, HD Rain secured a €1M in a Seed Round investment from Kima Ventures and Newfund. The startup has made significant strides by installing a large number of sensors covering 60,000 km² in the Mediterranean arc, offering weather protection to 19% of the French population. Additionally, the company has expanded its presence to other regions including the Ivory Coast, Brazil, Georgia, and Andorra. Their advanced weather monitoring and forecasting capabilities cater to various sectors including public safety, parametric insurance, agriculture, energy, transportation, and events.
