Harwell Science and Innovation Campus is the UK's leading science and innovation campus, encompassing a community of over 6,000 individuals from more than 250 organizations. The center aims to become the world's largest and most significant hub for scientific research, technological development, and commercialization. It focuses on addressing pressing global challenges such as ageing and growing populations, climate change, space exploration, energy technology, and storage, with the ultimate goal of improving the human condition. Harwell serves as a collaborative crossroads for public, private, academic, and commercial entities, facilitating cross-sector collaboration and talent exchange. Located in the United Kingdom, the campus provides access to £2 billion of open access research facilities and presents significant investment opportunities for start-ups, SMEs, and multinationals. The UK Government has recognized Harwell's significance, frequently selecting it as the site for major multi-million-pound scientific infrastructure investments, including the recent Faraday Institution and Rosalind Franklin Institute. Established in 1947, Harwell is currently managed through a public-private partnership dedicated to the development of the campus and its unique ecosystem. The most recent investment round, totaling £110 million, was made on 04 March 2019 by Santander Corporate & Commercial.
