Established in 1978 in Cincinnati, Ohio, the company initially sourced its windows from large national manufacturers and installed custom-made windows from three national brands. In 1986, Gilkey Window Company began manufacturing its own vinyl windows, becoming the first company in Cincinnati to offer a fusion-welded window system and custom spectrally selective Low E glass. The company was also the first manufacturer in Cincinnati to be rated by the National Fenestration Rating Council (NFRC) and qualify for the Energy Star® from the Department of Energy.
