Gigtforeningen

Gigtforeningen is a private disease-fighting organization founded in 1936. With a slogan "Vi kæmper for, at mennesker med sygdomme og smerter i led, ryg og muskler får et bedre liv," the organization focuses on improving treatment, prevention, and quality of life for Danes suffering from rheumatic diseases, boasting approximately 78,000 members, making it one of Denmark's largest patient associations. Around 500 members actively represent the rheumatic cause in 22 local circles and around 40 educational circles nationwide. Gigtforeningen's objectives include reducing the prevalence of illness, enhancing the quality of life for people in Denmark living with rheumatic diseases, supporting research in prevention, treatment, and recovery, as well as empowering individuals with knowledge and tools to take action.
