The General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC) is an independent regulator for pharmacists, pharmacy technicians, and pharmacy premises in Great Britain. Their focus is on assuring and improving standards of care for people using pharmacy services, setting standards for pharmacy professionals and pharmacies to enter and remain on their register.

Their role is to protect the public and give them assurance that they will receive safe and effective care when using pharmacy services. They also seek assurance that pharmacy professionals and pharmacies continue to meet their standards, including by inspecting pharmacies. They act to protect the public and uphold public confidence in pharmacy if there are concerns about a pharmacy professional or pharmacy on their register.
