FXB International
Founded in 1989, FXB International is a non-governmental organization with a commendable 30-year history dedicated to breaking the cycle of extreme poverty. The organization's mission is to empower families living in extreme poverty by providing them with the necessary tools and support to become self-sufficient, enabling them to raise their children in a safe environment with the prospect of a better future.
FXB International specializes in developing complementary programs that uphold fundamental human rights and promote social justice. The organization's activities encompass basic services, integrated community development through their flagship FXBVillage programs, education, health, and protection, in order to strengthen the capacity of the communities in which they operate.
Notably, FXB International has successfully implemented 200 Community Development Programs, FXBVillage, across 11 countries, including Burundi, China, Colombia, DRC, India, Mongolia, Namibia, Panama, Rwanda, Thailand, and Uganda, ultimately aiding over 100,000 adults and children in lifting themselves out of extreme poverty. Additionally, the organization has benefitted 18 million adults and children across 20 countries through sustainable community development, infrastructure rehabilitation, education, HIV/AIDS and other diseases prevention, as well as providing access to water and sanitation programs.
The name FXB derives from François-Xavier Bagnoud, a revered helicopter pilot who tragically lost his life at the age of 24 while dedicated to rescue operations. His spirit of generosity and compassion lives on through the tireless work of his family, friends, and the establishment of FXB International.
