Franklin Township Community School Corporation is an education startup located in the southeast portion of Indianapolis, encompassing forty square miles of a once rural community that is currently experiencing growth through new housing. With over 8600 students, the township schools consist of six K-5 elementary schools, two Grades 6-8 middle schools, and a comprehensive four-year high school.
Franklin Central High School has gained national recognition for academic success, being recognized as a Top Challenge School by The Washington Post in 2012 and 2013. This honor acknowledges the challenging curriculum that prepares students for college, placing Franklin Central in the top 9% of all public and private schools in the United States. U.S. News and World Report and Newsweek magazines also acknowledged Franklin Central as a top high school in the United States in May of 2013. Moreover, the Indiana Department of Education awarded Franklin Central the prestigious 4 Star School Award.
