Frameline is a media arts nonprofit with the mission of changing the world through the power of queer cinema. The organization is renowned for its flagship event, the San Francisco International LGBTQ Film Festival, which has been running since 1977 and attracts an annual attendance of over 60,000. In addition to the festival, Frameline also offers year-round exhibitions, sneak previews, and special events, as well as Frameline Distribution, the only nonprofit distributor specifically catering to LGBTQ films, boasting partnerships with universities, public libraries, film festivals, and community groups. Furthermore, the organization provides filmmaker support through the Frameline Completion Fund, which has assisted in the completion of over 143 films and videos since its establishment in 1990.
