FLEET: the ARC Centre of Excellence in Future Low-Energy Electronics Technologies
FLEET is an international innovator in novel electronics technologies, focusing on the development of a new generation of ultra-low power devices. The center is headquartered at Monash University and is an ARC Centre of Excellence, bringing together over 40 world-leading experts from various disciplines including atomic physics, condensed matter physics, materials science, electronics, nanofabrication, and atomically thin materials.
Enabled by the new science of atomically thin materials, FLEET aims to make a significant impact in the electronics and energy sectors. With a substantial $40M investment from the Australian Research Council (ARC) and contributing organizations, the center is poised for global influence. Moreover, FLEET's network comprises 19 chief investigators at seven Australian institutions, 19 partner investigators at 16 institutions worldwide, and is set to include over 100 HDR students and postdoctoral fellows.
The center's vision extends beyond research to building strategic and strong partnerships with Australian and international industry, research institutions, and government. Its goal is to build capacity for advanced electronics research in Australia and train the workforce for the next generation of electronic materials researchers and future semiconductor industry. FLEET's mission underscores its commitment to making a transformative impact in the field of electronics.
