First Command Educational Foundation

First Command Educational Foundation (FCEF) is a 501(c)(3) public charity with the slogan "To educate those who serve!". Established in 1983, FCEF is dedicated to improving financial readiness through education and scholarship opportunities. They have awarded approximately $4.3 million in scholarships since 1983, with $3.6 million going to military recipients. Additionally, they have educated over 64,000 individuals on financial topics since 2001, primarily military members. FCEF manages and administers six scholarship endowments and awards an average of $175,000 each year in various scholarships. Their educational efforts include providing an average of 70 separate presentations annually on financial topics to the military and federal employee audiences. In 2009, they launched the "Money Matters" curriculum for high school students and later introduced the "Military Money Matters" with five military-specific modules. This year, they launched the smartphone app "SavvySaver" to help individuals learn about finances. FCEF's educational presentations are offered free of charge to public schools, military organizations, and families.
