European Financial Data Institute (EUROFIDAI - UAR CNRS ESSEC 3390) is a research institute established in 2003 with the aim of providing financial and ESG data for academic researchers. Funded by the CNRS (French National Center for Scientific Research) and benefiting from Intramural Service Unit (UPS 3390) status, Eurofidai is a collaborative project involving the CNRS, Grenoble University, HEC Paris, and the University of Toulouse.
The institute's primary focus is to overcome the barriers to empirical research concerning European financial markets, including high access costs to financial and stock exchange data. Eurofidai is dedicated to developing European stock exchange databases that address these challenges, aiming to provide verified, controlled, and homogeneous databases over long periods, similar to the renowned American data provider CRSP.
Eurofidai's commitment to creating quality databases positions it as the only academic organization offering European market databases that effectively tackle the issues faced by researchers in the field of finance.
