The European Centre for Certification and Privacy (ECCP) aims at bringing research and innovation to the service of data protection and compliance. It is leading the development of certification schemes and standards with a focus on regulatory compliance assessment. It is actively engaged in research and innovation at international level and is a member of the International Accreditation Forum (IAF). The ECCP is in charge of maintaining Europrivacy, the European Data Protection Seal approved by the European Data Protection Board (EDPB) and European Accreditation (EA) to deliver official GDPR certifications under Art. 42 GDPR. Delivered certificates are legally and formally recognized by the data protection authorities of 30 countries: all EU and EEA members States. The ECCP is particularly active in the following areas: Privacy and Personal Data protection The European Centre for Certification and Privacy is on the front line of certification of privacy, data protection, and data regulations compliance. It maintains Europrivacy, the European Data Protection Seal, whose criteria address the European General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). Certification and labelling processes The European Centre for Certification and Privacy is researching and developing innovative certification schemes combining ISO models and standards with emerging technologies and testing tools. ICT certification The European Centre for Certification and Privacy is supporting certification of information and communication technologies, encompassing products, services and information management systems. It is also directly supporting certification and labelling services such as the IPv6 Ready Logo program.
