EGTC Efxini Poli is a network of Greek local authorities founded in 1995 under the name “EFXINI POLI”. It aims at social, cultural, environmental, touristic, and agricultural development. As of 2017, EGTC EFXINI POLI has 36 members, including municipalities from Greece and abroad, as well as local and university authorities. The organization focuses on interregional, transnational, and cross-border activities for sustainable development, leveraging its 22 years of experience in managing co-financed projects and collaborating with over 800 institutions in the EU and beyond.
Its objectives include Environmental and Tourist Development through European Projects, Agricultural Development tailored to local characteristics, Cultural Development, and promoting Social Entrepreneurship. Additionally, EGTC EFXINI POLI offers support in information, training, and employment promotion for socially vulnerable groups.
With a strong focus on management capacity and cooperation, the organization aims to improve building energy efficiency in coastal tourist cities and enhance the competitiveness of specific agricultural regions. It also seeks to promote the extroversion of member authorities and the exchange of good practices and know-how.
