Earth Hour is a global grassroots movement organized by WWF, uniting people to take action for the planet. Starting as a lights out event in Sydney, Australia in 2007 to raise awareness of the climate crisis, it has now grown to engage millions of supporters in more than 190 countries and territories. In 2023, Earth Hour was revitalized to create the #BiggestHourForEarth, urging supporters across the globe to switch off their lights and Give an hour for Earth, spending 60 minutes doing something positive for the planet. Amidst our increasingly divided and polarized societies, the #BiggestHourForEarth stands as a precious moment of hope and unity, reminding the world that our one shared home needs our help. With the upcoming event on Saturday, 22nd March 2025, 8:30 pm local time, Earth Hour continues to shine the spotlight on climate change and nature loss, inspiring individuals and organizations worldwide to play a part in protecting our planet.
