DYMO is a California-based company founded in 1958, which pioneered the personal label maker and embosser. Acquired by Esselte Office Products in 1978, DYMO expanded its product line to include electronic label makers in 1990. In 1998, Esselte acquired CoStar Corporation, propelling DYMO into the small, dedicated label printer market. The company was later acquired by Newell Rubbermaid in 2005.
